Must Have Checklists for Your Summer Travel or Camp Planning

It is amazing to talk to people and hear that there is some normalcy returning to summer! Kids are going back to summer camps and families are starting to travel again!

The ArtsBot family wants your return to normalcy to be stress-free, so we have a two checklists for you below to print and make your planning a breeze. Just highlight the one you need and use the control P command from your computer and send them to print!

Planning Checklist for Summer Camp

___A rolling suitcase/line the suitcase with a large, clean plastic trash bag that can be used if needed, and will keep the suitcase protected

___Shorts and coordinating tops—1 outfit for each day at camp

___Jeans—3 pairs, if a week-long camp or 1 extra pair, if day camp

___1 dress shirt/blouse and 1 pair dress pants OR 1 skirt (if camp has a dress up day)

___Underwear—enough for each day of camp and 3 extra pairs for a week-long camp

___Bathing suit and/or bathing shirts/shorts—ideally 2,  so one can dry while one is being worn

___Beach towel—ideally 2, so one can dry while one is in use

___1 Rain jacket or rain poncho

___Sunglasses

___Hats or bandanas (ideally 2, so one can air out while one is in use)

___Socks—1 pair for each day of camp, plus 3 extra pairs

___1 pair flip flops and/or water shoes

___1 pair gym/tennis shoes

___1 pair dress shoes, if camp has a dress up day

___Mesh laundry bag large enough to hold all the clothes taken to camp

___A backpack or shoulder pack

___Sunblock (50 SPF or higher)

___Any medications your child needs (enough for every day of camp) and directions for the staff (if required) on dosing

___Lip balm, if your child uses it

___2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, and 2 wash clothes (if a weeklong camp) OR for a day camp,  6 pre-packed hand/face wipes

___Feminine hygiene products (for older children)

___Safety razor and shave cream (for older children)

___Shampoo and/or conditioner or an all-in-one product

___Toothbrush (in a travel container) and toothpaste

___Bar soap in a travel container or one travel bottle of liquid soap

___Deodorant or powder or talc, if your child uses it

___Tissues and/or several rolls of toilet paper

___A caddy or carrier to take toiletries back and forth to the shower

___LED flashlight and extra batteries

___Bedding (if the camp requires it)

___Reusable water bottle/travel mug

___Phone and charger (if permitted—some camps are totally screen and phone-free!)

___Note paper with preaddressed and stamped envelopes

___A reminder of home—a photo of the family, stuffed animal, or other memento to help prevent homesickness

___Pre-packaged snacks and bottled water (enough for each day—be sure to check with the camp to make sure this is permitted and verify any potential items with allergens that are not permitted

___A book or game (like a deck of cards)

___Spending money (if the camp permits—check their policies before packing this!)

Checklist for A Family Trip

___The names and telephone numbers of each hotel/motel/Airbnb where you are staying (leave a copy with your pet sitter, neighbor who is getting your mail or other family who need to know)

___Tickets or boarding passes (if you are traveling by plane or rail)—be sure you have them for each traveler—if pre-printed

___Passports for each family member, if traveling internationally.

___Drivers license and insurance card for the correct vehicle—if driving (be sure each driver has his/her license with them)

___Shorts and coordinating tops—1 outfit for each family member, for each day you will be gone

___Books or games (like a deck of cards) for rainy days or quiet evenings
